Images of Spring

For everything there is a season

At last the grass is growing, and the hedgerows are white with hawthorn blossom. Here in Hampshire, Spring has finally arrived, and the oil seed rape is turning the fields into a patchwork of yellow.

In my garden

I’m painting tender Spring flowers that I will use as card designs and fabrics in the coming year. I use watercolours for this, always Artist quality, and heavyweight textured watercolour paper.

My favourite robin who lives on my allotment has built a nest in a flower pot, and is now frantically feeding four fat babies. I have put wire netting round it to try and keep magpies away.
