From sketch to design

Initial sketch of tropical mural

These are my initial sketches for a tropical themed mural in an indoor swimming pool room. I measured the walls and the architectural plans then produced these ideas to the scale of 1 inch =1 ft. I drew a grid on the wall and the drawing, then copied the painting square by square. The finished mural was finished with a matte coat of varnish to protect it.

I used some of my Greek sketches of flowers and trees as reference material in the finished mural.
